About the Archivists
How the Project Began
The Dunloe County Archive is an independent research project started by two longtime friends (Rose and Geraldo) with a shared interest/background in regional history. They met many years ago by chance while seated next to each other on a flight to Denver.
In early 2025, Rose mentioned a research assignment for her doctoral program in which she had to write a paper on an unsolved regional mystery. Geraldo recalled stories he heard throughout his childhood in Vermont regarding the ‘Northern Lights Incident’ in the 1970’s. What began as light research into a local tragedy quickly turned into something more, as the two discovered a series of bizarre traditions and events that took place in the now-forgotten Dunloe County. The Archive was born as a passion project that the pair continue to develop.
Meet the Archivists
Rose K

Rose K is a 2nd year Cultural Anthropology student in the Ph.D program at the University of Buffalo. She has a love for film noir and frequents the North Park Movie Theater.
Geraldo M

Geraldo M works as a library tech in Burlington, Vermont, where he grew up. Geraldo has held a personal interest in local Vermont history since middle school and considers himself an unofficial expert on Vermont folklore.
